The Pine Hollow Quilt Pattern

My friend Megan Best is a Signature Collection Designer for Island Batiks. She has been an ambassador for them for several years and her quilts always shine with their lovely fabric. This year she made patterns for the “Oasis” line of fabrics designed by Kathy Engle and her designs are really beautiful- mostly modern with space for quilting!

If you would like to see Megan’s designs, check out the Island Batik Fall/Winter catalog. And while you are at it you can look at the earlier catalogs- there are some truly lovely quilts and fabrics highlighted and it may spur you into a new project! Here is the link.

I was lucky to receive some fabric from Megan so that I could do my own quilt design with Oasis. My humble offering is more traditional than Megan’s designs, but it was designed to be not only Fat Quarter Friendly, but also Beginner Friendly. The whole quilt is made up of ONE BLOCK. Isn’t it amazing to realize that when you are looking at the quilt? You would think it would be boring, but I think it is lovely.

I am lucky to live near American Fork Canyon in Utah which is beautiful and is an oasis from the high density living of the Wasatch Front. The prints of these batiks reminded me of the sunflowers and evergreens that are abundant in the area this time of year.

If you are interested in making this quilt, the pattern is available now in my Shoppe and also in my Etsy Shop.

The fabrics are available at an Island Batik dealer near you.

  1. Your video about installing a hand wheel showed up a few days ago. That prompted me to call the store and be sure I bought the correct wheel. Sure enough, I had the wrong one. You saved me so much angst trying to install the wrong one. Thank You.
