Transportation Quilt Block: Jeep

Let’s face it: Jeep owners are a little bit crazy about their vehicles. Or maybe just a little bit crazy.

They baby them even though they are supposed to be a rough and tough off-road vehicle. They add all sorts of after-market accessories to personalize their “look”. They have a special wave they flash at other Jeep owners. And the ducks. Leaving ducks on other Jeeps is undertaken with reckless abandon.

Have you figured it out?

Blanche and her quilt. The red free motion stitching matches the red stitching on the upholstery.

Yup. I am a crazy Jeep person. I have a purple Wrangler Rubicon in Utah and an electric yellow Wrangler Willy in Maine. I am NOT spoiled. . . I just can’t be without my Jeep!

This block is a little bit different. . . it uses raw edge applique and you CAN use a cutting machine like a Cricut or Scan and Cut if you have one. And don’t be hampered by just making a 12″ block. . . make a whole quilt!!! This is my first Jeep (Blanche- Bikini Blue Rubicon) with her quilt. That quilt now lives in Sophia, my Purple Reign Rubicon).

Here we are with Sophia. Mr C decided I needed a purple Jeep- even though there was nothing wrong with Blanche.

You should absolutely make a Jeep quilt for the crazy Jeep person in your life!
This Jeep is a 1963 Willy that we use only to plow. I can’t drive it… there are four levers and I have NO idea what they do!

I know. I know. But this one has a retractable roof and is a hybrid. I plug it in at night and it goes about 25 miles before clicking over to gas. I call this one Wet Willy for obvious reasons- it lives in Maine!

    I would love to get your free pattern. I have sent my subscription in at least three times this last month and I get no reply from you. I have sent in the subscription every month and I do not get the pattern automatically like you say you do. What else do I do to get the pattern? I must be doing something wrong, but I don’t know what.
