Twin Quilts!

This week I got to do something that I have never done before. One of the women in our neighborhood is expecting twins. I have known her since she was a child. It is crazy to see her married and ready to have twins. I guess that means I am old. She is having a boy and a girl.

I didn’t have much time, so I chose the Maypole quilt pattern by Suzy Quilts. If you are not familiar with this pattern. . . you should be! It is a great pattern that changes with the fabrics you choose.

For these quilts I went with some “modern boho” type colors. The quilts are the same EXCEPT on the girl quilt I used a very pale pink as one of the colors and on the boy quilt those areas use light blue. The backings are different colors and the bindings match the backings.

The mother-to-be and HER mother were both thrilled with the quilts. I wasn’t able to attend the shower, so I stopped by earlier in the day. I made Larissa promise to USE them! I gave her some of my Quilt Care Packets so that she will remember how to wash them.

All the fabrics are from Riley Blake’s Confetti Cottons line. The boy quilt features the Malachite panto from Urban Elementz and the girl quilt is done with Anne Bright’s Rose Bushes B2B.

This was a fun project and they went together really quickly.
