Since I have had so much time to just sit around while I have been healing, I decided to participate in Quilt Block Mania. The theme for November 2023 is “Kitchen”. I have an image of all the blocks down at the bottom of the post and ALL of the kitchen blocks are FREE during November 2023.
I love to bake (cook. . .not so much) and my white Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer is the only appliance that has a permanent home on my counter. It is at least 20 years old and I use it several times a week.
This block version doesn’t have all the bells and whistles because it would have ended up being a lot more small pieces. I wanted to keep the block reasonable to make and I think this block conveys the image of a mixer without unnecessary complications. It is traditionally pieced so there are quite a few pieces in a block that ends up 12.5″ unfinished. This means that when it is added to other blocks it’s finished size will be 12″.
This block is FREE during the month of November. This block will still be available for $3.50 on Etsy and in my shop after November 30, 2023.
