Introducing: Harriet Carpanini

Harriet is an amazing quilter and a lovely person. On my first trip to Handi Quilter Headquarters I saw a quilt that took my breath away- Harriet had quilted it. I’ve been a fan since that day!

Artist statement

I love traditional quilts with a twist. I saw this pattern, Libby’s Log Cabin in a Fons and Porter magazine and knew I wanted to add it to my collection. Having no idea what color way I would choose, I opened the closet to my stash and my black and whites caught my eye.  Looking for a pop color, I found a piece of red that was perfect for this project!

Being a long arm quilter, I often like to put a “twist” on the quilting. I found a block pattern called Christofs Dream, by One Song Needle Arts. When I put two identical blocks side by side, it created a wonderful secondary pattern that showcased well in the background fabric. I’m excited to add this quilt to my collection. It will hang on my studio wall.
