On Point Heart Block

With our monthly theme being “romance”, how could I not design a heart block?

Kaye Collins designed the On Point Heart block for January 2021.

The last few months I have designed paper pieced patterns but this month I went with a straight up pieced pattern that has log cabin characteristics. Depending on your choice of fabrics you could make a totally scrappy heart or go for more of an ombre look like I did.

This sample block was made with Kona Cotton in Ballet Slipper, Candy Pink, Red and Bordeaux.

On Friday, January 8 I will be releasing a new quilt pattern called Pointedly Romantic featuring the on-point heart. It has instructions for five different sizes: Baby, Throw (pictured), Twin, Queen, and King. If you download the block and subscribe to the newsletter, you will receive a code to get this pattern for only $3 until January 15.
